Bio

Ashlin Halfnight is an award-winning writer for stage, film, and TV. Recent writing credits include the feature film Northbound starring two-time Oscar nominee Bruce Dern, and the Emmy-nominated Apple TV+ show The New Look.


Ashlin wrote on the Emmy-winning Netflix show, Bloodline, has developed TV series for FX, History Channel, Discovery, and Apple TV+. His plays have been produced in the US, Canada and in Europe and his re-imagining of Antigone, The Resting Place, was nominated for the 2018 Bay Area Critics Award for Best New Play. 


Called a “gifted playwright,” by the New York Times, Ashlin is a Fulbright Scholar, former professional hockey player drafted by the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, and is a 2017 Sloan Grant recipient with The Apothetae theater company. He holds a BA in English from Harvard, an MFA in Playwriting from Columbia, and he currently lives and works in New York.
